Use -아서/어서 to connect two actions or states where the first one is the reason or cause for the second. Choose 아서 if the verb stem ends in ㅏ or ㅗ, and 어서 for all other stems.
배가 고파서 밥을 먹어요.

I slept early because I was tired.
